Metric system

Feb 10, 2010   //   by Jay   //   Uncategorized  //  Comments Off

Did you know that the U.S. is one of only three nations in the world failing to get on board with the rest of us and use the metric system.  Of the three the U.S. is the only industrialized nation not on metric (except for a few areas like science or medicine) and use a system only known within the US.

Want to know who else sticks to their old ways?

(black is not on metric)

What does this mean? For non Americans it means we don’t really know what you mean when you discuss temperature or distance.  For me water boils at a hundred degrees.

For those from the US do you know how far 4 kilometers is? Is it something you’d walk or take a car for. If one of your South American friends asks you how cold it is, you have no idea what to say. Is 30 degrees hot? Is it cold?

Thing that get’s me most is that considering the US is only industrialised nation not using metric why they make no effort at all in making translations and assume we all know what they’re on about
